“Maccabi” Tel Aviv is going to dismiss 23-year-old Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini and is seeking a new basketball player on his position. The Jewish team was trying to transfer Ian Vougioukas from “UNICS” Kazan but the Russians refused. Now David Blatt paid attention to Aron Baynes, 26-year-old center of “Olimpija” Ljubljana.

The Australian basketball player played well in the first group stage of Euroleague. His team could not get in Top 16 but he was one of the best players. Baynes averagely earned 13.8 points and 9.8 rebounds in 26:14 minutes.

Offer of “Maccabi” is the same and it means to involve Shermadini in transfer. In 2010-11 Giorgi played for “Olimpija” on loan from “Panathinaikos” Athens.
