I love you all!", - Anna Tatishvili wrote on her Facebook page after the match against Maria Kirilenko. The match lasted nearly three hours and world No.16 seed won it.
Tatishvili and Kirilenko played at the Cincinnati tournament (2 369 000 USD). It was the second match of these tennis players. The first time they played in Charleston in 2011 and Anna won 5:7, 7:5, 6:3. So, the Russian took a revenge.
In the previous match Tatishvili had 63% on her first serve and used 64% (47 from 74). On the second serve she won 61% (27 from 44).
Anna served 8 aces and had 6 double faults (Maria served 12 aces and had 8 doubles). The Georgian tennis player used 4 from 11 break-points and the Russian - 3 from 4 breaks. Overall, Tatishvili had two points less than Kirilenko - 120:122.
In short, the Georgian top seed did her best and hopefully, she will achieve success at US Open which starts on 26 August and ends on 8 September. The New Haven prestigious tournament (690 000 USD) will be held on 18-24 August.
Last year Tatishvili competed in US Open perfectly and earned 280 ranking points.
Anna defeated Stephanie Foretz Gacon of France 6:2, 6:0, Sorana Cirstea of Romania 6:7 (5:7), 6:1, 6:2 and Mandy Minella of Luxembourg 7:5, 6:0. In the 4th round Anna lost to Viktoria Azarenka of Belarus 2:6, 2:6.
