World Chess Cup is underway in Tromso, Norway. World’s 128 best chess players are competing in it.

In the first round Baadur Jobava of Georgia (2693) defeated Martyn Kravtsiv of Ukraine (2620) with white pieces. Baadur will play with black pieces in the second game.

The Georgian grandmaster did a great move:

13.xc6!!  bxc 14.xd4 f5 15.xd8 axd8 16.d3 with decisive initiative

In case of victory, in the second round Jobava will face either Vladimir Akopian of Armenia or Ngoc Truong Son Nguyen of Vietnam.

Each game consists of two games, besides final where four games will be held. Tie-break: if the main game ends up draw two games 25 minutes+10 seconds; two games 10 minutes+10 seconds; two games 5 minutes+3 seconds and Armageddon – 5 minutes of whites against 4 minutes of blacks. In case of draw blacks go through the next round.
