Four Advanced in Zug

 

The first stage of FIDE Grand Prix is underway in the city of Switzerland, Zug. 12 chess players are competing in it. After 4 rounds three chess players advanced with 2.5 points: Alexander Morozevich (Russia, 2758), Ruslan Ponomariov (Ukraine, 2733) and Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria, 2771).

The following chess players are 0.5 point behind the leaders: Fabiano Caruana (Italy, 2772), Rustam Kasimdzhanov (Uzbekistan, 2709), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azberbaijan, 2766), Sergey Karjakin (Russia, 2786), Anish Giri (Holland, 2727) and Hikaru Nakamura (Japan, 2767). Gata Kamsky (USA, 2741), Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan, 2793) and Peter Leko (Hungary, 2744) have 1.5-1.5 points.

11 rounds will be held at the Swiss tournament and it will end up on April 30. The next games will be held on April 23. Here are the pairs of the 5th round: Caruana – Kasimdzhanov, Karjakin – Mamedyarov, Giri – Morozevich, Leko – Ponomariov, Kamsky – Radjabov, Topalov – Nakamura.
