Head coach of “Chornomorets” Roman Grigorichuk talked about the reason why the match between “Chornomorets” and “Dinamo” Tbilisi was not completed. As you know, the meeting was stopped at the 65th minute, when “Dinamo” was winning 1:0.
“Unfortunately, the meeting between the two clubs of rich history and traditions did not play until the end. We really wanted to play with “Dinamo”: this club is a champion of Georgia and in USSR time was long-time rival for us. We respect this tea, however they turned to be unpunctual: they belatedly arrived to the place and the match started 10 minutes later. In the first half was an equal game, we both had chances.
Soon after the break, in the second half Tornike Okriashvili felt bad and in order to not remain in the minority we had to replace him by the trainer Stepan Matviyiv. The fact of the matter is that we had no field players, because they were preparing for the match against “Petrolul” Romania. It happened so that involving of Stepan Matviyiv in the game caused the protest of Georgians and they left the field.
I totally don't understand the position of “Dinamo”. Everyone knows perfectly that in some official matches even Presidents of clubs play, and no one thought to call it disrespectful to the opponent.
We have offered other variants to “Dinamo”: allow the young goalkeeper Dmitri Bezrukov play or “borrow” one player from the Georgian team. This because to continue the game in any way, because test-match is one of the important elements at the meeting. Unfortunately, our initiatives have not been understood and the match was stopped”.
