Georgian U-19 team will hold a match against England at 20:00 Tbilisi time in Bornem (30 km away from Antwerp). It is the first elite round match of European Championship. It has rained for the last days in Bornem. Today weather is good but it is cold. It was 9 degree in the morning and 6 – in the evening.
Mark van Green, representative of the organizational committee, took us to Bornem from Antwerp. It was not his duty but showed attention. He told us that journalists seldom come from Georgia. He took us to Bornem by his car.
The stadium is located in the middle of the forest. It contains 700 spectators. It is not known how many spectators will attend the match. Georgians are going to attend it. As we found out, staff of Georgian embassy in Belgium and representatives of Georgian diaspora will support our team. Gia Chincharauli, former forward of “Dinamo” Tbilisi and the Soviet Union team, who lives in Mechelen will attend the match will his 11-year-old son Saba. Saba plays for “KV Mechelen”.
The Georgian team arrived in Bornem from Antwerp 1.5 hours before the start of the match. Coaches and football players did not make comments today. Yesterday Gia Tsetsadze, head coach of our team, told us that the team is in a good mood and is preparing for all three matches. To the question “who is favorite of this group”, Mr. Gia answered – “Georgia” and seeing me surprised, he smiled then. I guessed he joked. It will be good if this joke will justify.
