Georgian U-19 national football team will hold the first match of elite round at 18:00 (20:00 Tbilisi time) on “Breevenstadion” stadium in Belgium, Bornem on May 24. English U-19 national team will be opponent of our team. On May 26 the Georgians will play against Scottish team at 15:00 on “KFC Oosterzonen” stadium in Westerlo. On May 29 our boys will hold another match against Belgians at 18:00 in Bornem.
The Georgian team arrived in Brussels on May 21. Then, the team departed for Antwerp where it stayed in one of the hotels. Our team intensively prepared for the elite round matches. The first match against England is very important.
Georgians living in Belgium are waiting for the matches of our team. One week ago, author of these lines applied to the Georgian embassy in Belgium by e-mail and asked to inform Georgians about these matches. So, they will be able to attend the matches and support their team.
I sent such letter to some Georgians in Belgium and Holland. I did it because Georgians abroad were not informed about our matches or they found out it later and could not attend the matches.
When I arrived in Brussels I went to the Georgian embassy and I was pleasantly surprised that the embassy staff and Mr. Davit Solomonia have actively worked on informing Georgians in Belgium. Of course, the Georgians in Belgium are very busy but I hope some of them will attend these matches in Bornem and Westerlo and support our team.
Mr. Davit Solomonia told us many Georgians and Georgian Jews live in Antwerp and nearby. I hope some of them will attend the matches. Mrs. Gulnara Managadze who is from Gagra and has lived in Belgium for 17 years, told us that she will attend the matches. Her friends and relatives will also support the Georgian U-19 team in Belgium.
