Basilashvili won the Italian tournament

 

Nikoloz Basilashvili, the Georgian tennis player, won the international tournament, which was underway in Appiano, Italy. The prize fund was 15 thousand dollars.

Basilashvili was #4 seed and celebrated the victory 5 times. Nikoloz defeated Oramazabal of Chile 7:6 (7:5), he also defeated Massara of Italy 4:6, 7:6 (8:6), 6:0, he won over to Lizariturry of Spain (#7 seed) 6:2, 6:3 and Prader of Italy – 6:0, 5:7, 6:4.

In the decisive match of “Shparkasen Trophy” the Georgian played against Italian Matteo Trevisan and won over 7:5, 3:6, 6:4

Basilashvili is in the 302th place with 137 points in the current rating of Association of Tennis Proffesionals (ATP). By winning the tournament of Appiano he will gain another 35 points and will enter in the three.

Shota Meparidze lost the final match of Junior Tournament, which took place in Yerevan. The Georgian (#1 seed) lost to Jewish Yankel Zemel (4th raiting) 6:1, 6:7 (6:8), 6:7 (8:10) in the decisive meeting of “President’s Cup”.

The tandem of Meparidze and Irakli Metreveli (#6 seed) won over to Kazakh-Russian duet (Mishchenko – Iarkov) – 6:2, 6:4 and won the main prize.
