Two Georgian tennis players were involved in the international tournament in Astana (Kazakhstan). Nikoloz Basilashvili and Aleksandre Metreveli were participating in “Astana Challenger” (prize fund 75 000 USD).

Georgians made through to classification and gained success. No.3 seed Basilashvili rested in the first round, then he overcame Kazakh Bolat Mamir 6:1, 6:2 and Belarusian Ilia Ivashka 6:4, 7:6 (7:4).

In the main draw Nikoloz faced Russian Aslan Karatsev and lost 6:3, 3:6, 7:6 (7:3). In 1/8 final Georgia’s top seed will play against the best among Russian Konstantin Kravchuk and French Jiul Mari.

Unfortunately, Metreveli stayed beyond the tournament, who defeated Uzbek Sardor Pulatov (6:2, 6:3), Russian Andrey Rublev (6:4, 6:4) and Kazakh Sagadat Ayap (6:2, 6:2) in the classification.

In the main draw the Georgian tennis player faced Russian Alexander Kudriavtsev and lost 5:7, 3:6.
