Arabidze Stays Among the Leaders

 

Irina Bulmaga (2387) of Romania advanced with 7.5 points before the end of the 4th round of World Youth Championship in girls. Russian Alexandra Goriachkina (2418) has 7.0 points and then follows the group of 4-players, in which Meri Arabidze of Georgia is included.

Arabidze completed the last 2 parties with a draw and gained 6.5 points. At first, Meri played a draw with black pieces against Bulmaga, and then with white pieces against Rout Padmini (2312) of India. She played also draw with Ruth.

The Georgian is in the 5th place with additional showing. The next party she will play with black pieces against Alina Kashlinskaya (2434). Alina has the best ranking among the participants and is in the 3rd place with 6.5 points.

in the men tournament, Zurab Javakhadze has 5.0 points and is in the 37th place. He has not won after 6th round. In the 10th round the Georgian chess player will play with white pieces against the representative of Switzerland Nico Georgiadis (2396).
