A Gold of Amiran and a Bronze of Zebeda

Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg) the member of Georgian national judo team became champion at “Grand Slam” and as a result earned 500 ranking points. Zebeda Rekhviashvili (73kg) won a bronze medal and earned 200 points.

Papinashvili beat three opponents before the final fight. He beat Dutch Jeroen Mooren and Azerbaijani Ilgar Mushkiev with ippon and Armenian Hovanes Davtyan with wazari. In the decisive fight he beat Brazilian Phelipe Kitadai in two minutes and half.

Rekhviashvili lost the chance of championship in the ¼ final. Before that fight Georgian judoka beat Russian Murat Kozokov, Brazilian Marcelo Kontin. In repechage final he beat American Nickolas Delpopolo. In “Bronze final” he beat Mongolian Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar the world champion 2009 with ippon.

Today on "Grand Slam" Shalva Kardava and Tristan Peikrishvili (both 66 kg) wrestled too, but both of them lost at the initial stage.

Tomorrow Zviad Gogochuri (90kg), Varlam Liparteliani, Nodar Metreveli (both of them 100 kg), Adam Okriashvili and Levan Matiashvili (both of them 100 kg) will start competition.
