Georgian forward Giorgi Alaverdashvili signed 3-year contract with Romanian “Gaz Metan”, which is in the 10th place after 7 rounds in the current season. This is the only club, which made champion “Steaua” to lose the points – 2:2.
As far as you know, we wrote about Alaverdashvili 10 days ago, that he was tested in Romanian “Vaslui”. But, it happened so that he signed the contract with the different club. “World Sport” got in touch with Alaverdashvili in Romania:
“There were versions of “Vaslui” and “Gaz Metan”. Finally, I appeared in “Gaz Metan”. I trained here only twice. Before I came here, the coach had seen the disc of my games and he knew also the statistics. Simply, the trainings still were needed, they saw my play and we reached the agreement” – said Alaverdashvili.
25-year-old Alaverdashvili scored 23 goals in 30 matches in Lithuania last year. By the way, Giorgi went there in the same way as Akaki Khubitia did: He joined “Gaz Metan” of Medias from Lithuania and from there in the national team. More Georgians have never played in the Super League of Romania.
