After a three-year pause, Giorgi Merebashvili returned to the national team, said in the conversation with “worlds sport” that if he has a chance to play against Poland, he will do his maximum.

Giorgi Merebashvili: “Calling for the national team is a great feeling. Everyone, who knows me, knows what the national team means for me. If I have a chance to play, I will do the maximum.

-Was the adaptation in Greek OFI difficult for you?

-I have undergone the adaptation period quite well. In the first period, Giorgi Loria helped me very much. He helped me to clear up the situation in the club. I formed friendly relations with the head coach Gennaro Gattusso. It looks as if we know each other for a long time and played together. In a short, I had no problem with players and coaches.

-On what position you play in OFI?

-I played 4 matches in Greece, twice in my position, once left and once right. In the last match Gattusso made me play from the right.

-Do you think that invitation to the national team is a good chance to establish yourself?

-Obviously, I was very glad that I was invited. I scored a goal in the debut match of “Panathinaikos”. In the next match I made a goal assist. If they give me the chance, I will do everything in order to show myself and make the fans happy.
