European Youth Championship in chess will take place on October 18 in Batumi.
The Championship is based on the Swiss system. 12 tournaments among girls and boys will be held in 6 age categories (08, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18).
The opening ceremony of the European Championship will be held on October 18 and will start at 19:30 in Batumi Drama Theatre. The first round is scheduled for October 19. The matches will start everyday at 15:00. Hotels “Sheraton” and “Inturist” will host the competition.
In total, 1000 youngsters from 45 countries will compete for the title of European champion in their age categories.
The Georgian delegation will be the most numerous – 140 participants. After the hosts, the Russian Federation is the most representative – 136 chess players.
