Willy Sagnol, head coach of Georgia’s national football team, held a pre-match press conference before Georgia will face Turkey in its debut match at EURO 2024.

“It is our first match but also for Turkey. I am sure there is more pressure on them. Turkey has very technical and good players. It is a big challenge for us.

After playoff match it was difficult for some players to go back to daily routine because they still had a lot of emotions and they had a feeling they were living a dream but dream must be stopped at some point and we must focus on the European Championship because this tournament needs discipline and mental readiness.

Solomon Kvirkvelia is ready for tomorrow’s match, Kiteishvili – not yet. The Georgian players are ready to fight. They have been waiting for all this for a long time”, - said Sagnol.

Georgia – Turkey match will be held on June 18. The match will start at 20:00 Tbilisi time.
