U-21 Team - before the Second and Tougher Match

Georgian U-21 team easily defeated Luxembourg (3:0) and is preparing for the second qualifying game of European Championship. On 9 September the Georgians will play Slovakia at 21:00 Tbilisi time. The match will be held on Senec arena. It is a sports complex.

“World Sport” contacted Lasha Parunashvili, midfielder of the national team and player of “Sioni” Bolnisi:

“We possessed the ball against Luxembourg. The opponent was in defense. They had one good moment but our goalkeeper Nadiradze played well. Now we will play stronger team”.

The team of Aleksandre Chivadze arrived in Slovekia yesterday morning and held the practice:

“We are on good form. Yesterday we practiced on a good field. Today we will hold the practice on this stadium where we will play tomorrow”.

We asked Parunashvili what conclusions Chivadze made from the play of Slovakia which they watched on video:

“We will play on counter-offences but it does not mean that we will be only in defense. We have good offensive line and can possess the ball. I think it will be our advantage. We will have goal chances. As for the play of Slovakia, we watched their friendly match against Italy and we liked it. It is a good team and plays correctly”.

Holland, Scotland, Slovakia and Luxembourg are in this group. It is clear that the team of Chivadze is strong. It is early to talk about making through to the next round but this team can do it:

“We have a good team. Chivadze explains us everything well and we believe that we can go through the next round. We have a chance and we must use it”.

Referees from Malta will judge the match against the Slovaks. Alan Mario Sant will be the main referee.
