Weiss: "It Is a Very Sad Day, Two More Matches and I Am Leaving, My Time Is up in Georgia"

Vladimir Weiss is resigning from the post of head coach of the Georgia national football team. Weiss stated he is leaving the team after the match against Estonia. It is worth mentioning that some journalists left the press conference of Weiss in protest.

“I want to apologize for today’s match. Of course, I am responsible for the result but it is football. It is life which goes on. I want to apologize to everybody, my players, fans, federation, Georgia. Macedonia scored one goal and it turned out to be enough for victory. I congratulate them on victory. It is a very sad day for me, for everyone.

I cannot say that any player was not motivated enough. We expected more from the offence. Replacements were made late but we did not have better players on the bench. One goal revealed the winner. My time has expired and after two matches you will have a new coach with new hopes. I am ending up my 5-year activities in Georgia. Today everyone is sad, journalists, players, fans are in tears. I apologize”, - Weiss stated.

Vladimir Weiss became a head coach of the Georgia national football team in spring 2016.
