26-year-old Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili made through to semifinal of China Open (4 658 510 USD).
Basilashvili celebrated his third victory at China Open several minutes ago. He defeated Malek Jaziri of Tunisia 6:2, 6:2 in an hour and 8 minutes.
Before this match, Nika beat America’s Jack Sock 6:7 (6:8), 7:5, 6:2 and Spain’s Fernando Verdasco 7:6 (7:3), 6:4. Basilashvili earned 180 ranking points and 180 900 USD. He reached his highest ranking the 28th place in live ranking.
In semifinal the Georgian will face Kyle Edmund of Great Britain who is world No.16.
Basilashvili has played Edmund twice and has negative balance. In 2016 Nikoloz lost 6:7 (4:7), 7:6 (9:7), 5:7, 1:6 at French Open. This year the Georgian lost 6:7 (0:7), 6:3, 6:4, 0:6, 5:7 at Australian Open. If Nikoloz beats Edmund, he will make through to final and earn 300 points and 359 510 USD.
