For the Georgian judo team the second day of European Judo Championship turned out to be worse than the unsuccessful first day. This time none of the Georgians won a right to wrestle in final block. Olympic and European champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili (73 kg) lost the first meeting to Igor Wandtke of Germany. Two-time European finalist Nugzar Tatalashvili (81 kg) beat Srdjan Mrvaljevic of Montenegro but failed to Ivaylo Ivanov of Bulgaria.
Tomorrow Beka Gviniashvili, Ushangi Margiani (both 90 kg), Varlam Liparteliani (100 kg) and Guram Tushishvili (+100 kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia.
