Zviad Pataridze (120 kg), member of the youth wrestling team of Georgian Greco-Roman style, is the world 5-time champion. The Georgian heavyweight gained another success at the World Youth Championship in Tampere, Finland. He defeated Kim Roman of Kyrgyzstan (6:2).
On the way to final, Zviad Pataridze defeated four opponents: Amin Mirzazadeh of Iran (4:1), Itsuki Shoji of Japan (8:0), Lenard Istvan Berei of Romania (8:0) and Georgii Gadzinov of Russia (9:0).
At the award ceremony the organizers mistakenly played the old anthem of Georgia. Then, in honor of the champion, played the new one.
Today, European champion and world prize winner Nugzar Tsurtsumia (55 kg), European vice-champion Giorgi Kurtanidze (66 kg) and European prize winner Temur Chkuaseli (84 kg) also took part in the competition, but all of them lost in the morning program.
