Geno Petriashvili, current European champion and member of the Georgian freestyle wrestling team, won bronze medal at Rio Olympics.
The 22-year-old sportsman (125 kg) beat Tervel Dlagnev of the USA 10:0 in repechage final.
Before that Geno defeated Dimitar Kumchev of Bulgaria and Alen Zasyeyev of Ukraine but in ¼ final he lost to Komeil Ghasemi of Iran and continued competing in repechage. Petriashvili won over Korey Jarvis of Canada in repechage semifinal.
It is the 7th medal for the Georgian delegation. The Georgian Olympic team has 2 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.
