The Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team finished Dortmund Grand Prix without medal.
Shmagi Bolkvadze (71 kg) and Iakob Kajaia (130 kg) had the best chance of winning a medal – both of them went through to the repechage final but unfortunately, they lost.
After beating Selcuk Khan of Turkey and Ahmed Saleh Ibrahim Adhem of Egypt, Bolkvadze made through to semifinal where he lost to future champion Maximilian Schwabe of Germany. In repechage the Georgian fell to Adam Kurak of Russia and finally, took the 5th place.
Iakob Kajaia lost semifinal to Vitali Shohur of Russia. Before that, the Georgian heavyweight defeated two opponents – Heiki Nabi of Estonia and Kristian Ion of Germany. In repecahge Kajaia failed to Mantas Knistautas of Lithuania.
Revaz Nadareishvili also wrestled in 130 kg but he lost the first round to Johan Euren of Sweden.
Robert Kobliashvili (98 kg) won over Romas Fridrikas of Lithuania and then fell to Daniel Gastl of Austria.
Zurab Datunashvili (85 kg) lost the first round to Erik Aps of Estonia.
Revaz Lashkhi (66 kg) started participating from the second round and failed to Artem Surkov of Russia. In repechage the Georgian lost to Enes Bashar of Turkey.
