Beka Gviniashvili (100 kg) became a champion of Baku Grand Slam, earned 500 ranking points and Olympic license.

Before the final, the 20-year-old Georgian judoka defeated five opponents – Ivan Remarenco of the UAE, Elkhan Mammadov of Azerbaijan, Javad Mahjoub of Iran, Dimitri Peters of Germany and Aaron Wolf of Japan. In the final Gviniashvili beat Miklos Cirjenics of Hungary.
