Heavy Day of the Georgian Heavyweights

Dusseldorf Grand Prix has finished for the Georgian judo team. Today Beka Gviniashvili, Lasha Taveluri (both 100 kg), Adam Okruashvili and Levan Matiashvili (both +100 kg) wrestled on the German tatami but all of them lost the first stages.

Gviniashvili beat Pablo Aprahamian of Uruguay and Tuvshinbayar Naidan of Mongolia but in 1/8 final the Georgian judoka fell to Jorge Fonseca of Portugal.

Taveluri won over Mikhail Minchin of Armenia. In 1/8 final he failed to Dimitri Peters of Germany.

Adam Okruashvili lost to Daniel Allerstorfer of Austria and Levan Matiashvili fell to Freddy Figueroa of Ecuador.

The Georgian team finished Dusseldorf Grand Prix with Vazha Margvelashvili (66 kg) and Lasha Shavdatuashvili’s (73 kg) bronze medals.
