The only Georgian participant Varlam Liparteliani gained gold medal and 500 ranking points at Paris Grand Slam. Wrestler in 90 kg weight category beat five opponents.

Liparteliani was involved in the competition from the second round and beat Estonian Aleksandr Marmeljuk in 2 minutes. The Georgian won over Russian Said Emi Zhambekov, French Axel Clerget and Serbian Aleksandar Kukolj.

In the decisive battle, Varlam Liparteliani faced another Frenchman – Alexandre Iddir and beat by yuko.

Naturalized member of the Georgian women’s team Esther Stamm (70 kg) also took part in this competition and started well, but in 1/8 final lost to German Laura Vargas Koch.
