Three-Medal Day

The Georgian judo team won gold medal at European Youth Olympic Festival. Robinzon Beglarashvili took the first place in 60 kg. In final he beat Manuel Lombardo of Italy by waza-ari.

Before the final, Beglarashvili defeated three opponents – Tigran Badalyan of Armenia, Ismayil Ibrahimov of Azerbaijan and Lars Kamphuis of Netherlands.

Bagrat Niniashvili (66 kg) and Natalia Kipshidze (48 kg) won bronze medals.

In semifinal Niniashvili lost gold-silver chance to Giovanni Esposito of Italy. Before that Niniashvili won over Constantin Gabun of Moldova and Ofek Shani of Israel.

Natalia Kipshidze failed to Tugce Beder of Turkey. In repechage she defeated three opponents - Daria Kharlapanova of Russia, Denisa Beranova of Czech Republic and Kiera Batemen of Great Britain.

Tomorrow champions and prize winners will be revealed in boys’ 73 kg and girls’ 52 and 57 kg. Lasha Dudashvili (73 kg), Mzia Beboshvili (52 kg) and Eter Liparteliani (57 kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia.
