20-Hour Marathon Has Finished - UEFA Super Cup Tickets Are Sold out

The Georgian Football Federation finished selling of the UEFA Super Cup tickets. “Barcelona” and “Sevilla” will play in Tbilisi on August 11.

22089 tickets were on sale at the box offices of the Mikheil Meskhi stadium at 08:50 on Sunday morning. All tickets were sold out at 05:25 on Monday morning.

The tickets were available at 12 box offices and 12 cashiers served customers. There was a video control in every box office.

There were monitors at the box offices and fans could choose sector, row and place of “Dinamo Arena”.

The three categories of the tickets (18 GEL, 35 GEL and 75 GEL) were available. Each customer could buy only 4 tickets. After choosing the ticket, the cashier printed it.

The MIA officers controlled territory outside the box offices, Security Service and the GFF stewards – at the box offices.

In the afternoon the box offices had problem with electricity and they went on working with the help of diesel generators.

The GFF president Zviad Sichinava and general secretary Rezo Arveladze helped the fans buy the tickets. They did not leave the territory until the morning.

Giorgi Areshidze, head of Tbilisi City Hall Sport Service, Zviad Devdariani, representative of NGO “Sida”, and journalist of news agency worldsport.ge were monitoring the territory.

The tickets must have been sold out by 21:00 but the GFF took interest of the fans into consideration and decided to work until the last ticket was sold out.

Neither the federation employees, nor stewards and monitoring members bought the tickets. Some fans needed a lot of time to choose tickets. If not such cases, the tickets would have been sold out earlier.

Some fans lacked money to buy tickets and general secretary Revaz Arveladze helped them. The cashiers worked 20 hours without a stop. There were some technical problems but the federation improved them.

The fans, who could not buy “Barcelona-“Sevilla” match tickets, were disappointed. They went to the federation and expressed their disappointment with insults.
