Two silver and three bronze – this is the result of Georgian freestyle wrestling team at Baku European Games. Today, Beka Lomtadze (61 kg), Davit Tlashadze (70 kg), Sandro Aminashvili (86 kg) and Geno Petriashvili (125 kg) involved in this games and all of them wrestled for medals.
Beka Lomtadze had better results – he ended up the morning program without loss. The Georgian beat Ukrainian Vasili Shuptar (12:1), Romanian Ivan Guidea (6:3 4:5) and Bulgarian Radoslaw Velikov (1:0 9:0). In the decisive battle, he tried to take revenge over Russian Aleksandr Bogomoev and in vein – 8:13.
Davit Tlashadze, Sandro Aminashvili and Geno Petriashvili lost the chance of gold in semifinal.
Sandro Aminashvili gained the second medal of the day. The debutant of the team got trauma in the meeting against Romanian Georgita Stefan and ended up this meeting and the whole competition with bandaged head (6:0 2:0). Then, he beat Ukrainian Dmitro Rochniak (6:0 2:1) and Armenian Musa Murtazaliev (1:0 3:1). Aminashvili lost the chance of final in the equal battle against Moldovan Piotr Ianulov (1:2 2:3).
In repechage final, Aminashvili lost to Hungarian Ishtvan Vereb 0:2. After a little break, he gained 3 points and won bronze medal.
Geno Petriashvili (125 kg) also gained bronze medal. He lost the chance of gold-silver in the meeting against world champion 2011 – Belarusian Aleksandr Shemarov – 5:5. 21-year-old wrestler gained two easy victories over Macedonian Boban Danov (11:0) and Ukrainian Oleksandr Khotsianovski (10:0). In bronze final he won over Levan Berianidze (Armenia).
As for Davit Tlashadze, he lost the chance of continuing battle for Euro title against Polish Magomedmurad Gadjiev (0:10).
