Georgian water polo team got in the top three by ending the qualifying stage of the European Championship 2014 and on Monday it will be known who will be their next opponent (Netherlands, Macedonia, Turkey).

Recall that in the first and second rounds the Georgian team, coached by Serbian Jovan Popovic, played perfectly and took the first place in both times.

The Georgian team lost only once in the 3^rd round in Portugal against Slovakia 16:17, on the other hand, everything was quite good: 24:7 – against Switzerland, 11:4 – Malta, 17:9 – Belarus and 17:9 – Portugal.

Ultimately, the Georgian water polo players gained 40 points and despite the loss to Slovakia, got in the top three together with Russia and France.

According to the qualifying stage results the teams which are in the 4^th and 6^th places – Great Britain, Ukraine and Slovakia will face the teams which are in the 7^th and 9^th places – Spain, Romania and Croatia in the play off.

Play off matches will take place on February 15 and April 12. Winner 6 teams will join those six who are already through the European Championship, which will take place on July 13-26 2014 in Budapest.

Except the host Hungary, there are Serbia, Montenegro, Italy, German and Greece, which ended the previous European Championship in the top five.
