On Wednesday meeting of GFF Disciplinary Committee was held at the media center of “Mikheil Meskhi” stadium. The committee did not consider the request about the removal of Xisco’s disqualification. So, the Spaniard will miss three matches. The committee also fined “Dila” Gori with 800 GEL because its fans shot fireworks.
The committee also warned Valdas Ivanauskas, head coach of “Dila”, who said not so pleasant epithets about referees after the match against “Dinamo” Tbilisi. The Lithuanian specialist talked to “World Sport”:
- Valdas, what were you told at the meeting?
- I was warned but we agreed on that people did not understand me then. I expressed my opinion. It is the fact that the referees made mistakes and not only in this match. I can prove it by video records. They are people too and perhaps, they made mistake. Everyone makes mistake. A lot of mistakes are made at Champions League too. I am a coach and I do not want anyone to spoil our work. The Football Federation and Disciplinary Committee must make a decision. These mistakes must not turn into tendency.
- Everybody talks about financial problems of “Dila” Gori. What is going on?
- It is a critical situation. When German fitness coach Tomas Klimek and I arrived here we did not think about such problems. We have other problems too. We do not have normal practicing conditions. We ask anyone to let us on the practicing field. The boys did their best. They are real heroes but they cannot bear more. It is a shame. We do not know what will happen in the future. We have to play at Europa League and we must have any plan. The football players are hungry and nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. They are talented boys. If “Dila” falls into pieces, it will be a great loss for the Georgian football.
- You are a professional. If it goes on this way, will you leave the team before summer?
- Do you want me to be honest? I have no idea because there is uncertain situation in the team. If they do not have money, let us know. The boys will play for Gori. I am thankful to them. In summer they will go to other clubs because they are talented and have perspective. We will wait for our money but the most important is what will happen to “Dila”. This club can go far from Europa League but if nothing is done, it will be lose in the first round.
…then we talked to Gia Isiani, manager of “Dila”. His project about the development of football (“World Sport” has already written about it) was approved by Levan Kipiani, minister of Sport. Kipiani promised to help him: “It is good that the minister approved this idea. Of course, details must be determined. We work on this issue with the Football Federation. I think we can save the Georgian football only by this way. I want to mention the role of media. Society finds out the problems from you and I thank you for that”, - Isiani told us.
