Georgia’s top seed Ana Tatishvili is in snowy Michigan and in this week she will take part in the Midland tournament (100 000 USD). Georgian tennis player is in the main draw and the name of her opponent will be known after the qualifying matches.
It should be also said that Polish Ursula Radwanska is No.1 seeded at the DOW CORNING TENNIS CLASSIC, who occupies the 45th place in the WTA ranking. Swiss Romina Oprand (94th) and Belarusian Olga Govortsova (98th) follows her.
Tamar Chalaganidze was involved in the tournament in Californian Rancho Santa Fe (USA). In the first circle of FRESH START WOMEN’S OPEN (prize fund 25 000 USD) No.16 seed Georgian tennis player beat American Rachel Rid 6:2, 6:3 and in the next meeting she will play against Jessica Faila.
Sopo Shapatava moved to Tallinn (Estonia), who last week won in the doubles tournament (25 000 USD) in French Grenoble. Shapatava will be No.1 seed in the Tallink Open VIII.
Ekaterine Gorgodze and Sopo Kvatsabaia will play in the Antalya tournament (10 000 USD). According to preliminary estimate, Gorgodze will be No.3 seed and Kvatsabaia will be in the main draw.
Meanwhile, updated ratings of WTA has been published and significant changes has not effected to the Georgian tennis players. Ana Tatishvili still occupies the 115th place with 554 points.

In the doubles ranking, Kalashnikova occupies the 53th place with 1632 points, Tatishvili is the 82th with 1085 points and Shapatava is in the 178th place with 382 points.
For instance, now Kalashnikova is in Doha (Qatar) and will participate in the doubles tournament of Qatar Total Open 2014 (prize fund 2 440 070 USD)
In the initial round Oksana and French Caroline Garcia will compete with German Cristina Barua and French Laura Torpe. In case of victory, Kalashnikova and Garcia will get 105 ranking points.
