Georgian water polo team participates without loss at the final 3rd round of qualifying stage of European Championship 2014.
Recall, that the team, coached by Serbian Jovan Popovic, won over Switzerland 24:7 in the first round, and yesterday they hold 2 matches and again successful.
Georgian water polo players at first wovercame Malta – 11:4, then Belarus – 17:9. This is the 20th match without a loss in a row for our team.
So, Georgian team have left 2 meeting in the 3rd round: on November 9 against Slovakia at 22:30 Tbilisi time and on November 10 against Portugal at 16:00.
As we already informed, the Georgian water polo players played perfectly in the first and second qualifying rounds and occupied first-third places together with Russia and France in the overall ranking.
Only 6 teams should be in play off. Georgia almost guaranteed to be in this six. Now the main thing is to take minimum the 3rd place to not to face the strongest teams of Europe in play off.
It is already known that the teams which will take the 4th-6th places will play against Spain, Romania and Croatia. And the first three will face Netherlands, Turkey and Macedonia.
Besides these six teams, also Serbia, Italy, Montenegro, Greece and German will participate in the final stage of the Championship.
