The World Championship in archery started in Belek, Turkish resort town. Only trio of women will participate in the name of Georgia: Kristine Esebua, Khatuna Narimanidze and Yulia Lobzhanidze.
Narimanidze had the best result among the Georgians in the qualifying stage, she took the 26th place, Lobzhanidze was in the 39th place and Esebua in the 68th place. In the first round, Esebua defeated French Bryan 7:1 and then she lost to Brazilian Nikitin 4:6.
In the 2nd circle, Narimanidze and Lobzhanidze faced each other and in the Georgian duel Lobzhanidze won 6:5. Before this, Khatuna won over Canadian Chenie 6:4 and Yulia defeated Romanian Bancila – 7:1. In the 1/16 final Lobzhanidze faced Russian Stepanova and lost 2:6.
After the qualification the Georgian team earned 3921 points and in the 1/8 final was #13 seeded. In the first round, Georgian archers faced Mexico (4018 points) and lost with the score 154:168.
