Irakli Uznadze, head coach of Georgian judo team, specified the composition for Tbilisi Grand Prix. Recently, official website of the Judo Federation released the list of 29 judokas which would lack one. Uznadze made a choice between Revaz Chikoidze and Giorgi Nozadze (both 100kg). Finally the list was filled by Chikoidze.
Last November, Revaz Chikoidze won a bronze medal at the Georgian Championship. This season, one month ago, he wrestled at the Oberwart European Open tournament and lost to Moldovan Ivan Remarenko in the initial stage.
In 100kg weight category Guram Tushishvili, current champion of the country as well as the European champion among young, also will wrestle. Appearance of 19-year-old sportsman in the national team’s composition confirmed the rumors which was spread last time, about serving his sentence imposed by the Federation. Recall that last year he and another member of the team Lasha Taveluri were punished because of using alcohol at the training meeting. Tushishvili had 1-year forced rest and Taveluri – 6-month.
