“World Sport” learned that the leader of basketball union, veteran basketball player Mikheil Akhvlediani is going to appeal to the court the presidential elections of Georgian Basketball National Federation 2013, which was held on December 11.

In order to clarify the information “World Sport” contacted Akhvlediani and basketball union lawyer, veteran basketball player Davit Sakvarelidze, who neither denied nor confirmed this information.

Recall that Mikheil Akhvlediani, Vladimer Boisa, Kakha Shengelia and Mikheil Gabrichidze participated in the presidential elections of the Georgian National Basketball Federation. Unhappy with the electoral system Akhvlediani left the meeting in protest.

As for Boisa and Shengelia, they withdrew their candidacy in favor og Gabrichidze, who won and now is the president of Georgian Basketball National Federation, and Boisa and Shgelia are vice presidents.
