Georgian National Sevens Rugby Team lost the third qualifying round match of World Championship with Japan 7:26 and took the third place in the group.
Despite this, Georgia advanced to the quarterfinals, where they meet with the same Japan as the best team among the third-place team, winning the second place in the overall table. The game will be held tomorrow morning at 06:03 p.m. Tbilisi time.
In the match with Japan, Georgia began with the following staff: Bakhva Kobakhidze, Irakli Mackhaneli, Shavleg Makharashvili, Lasha Khmaladze, Vito Kolelishvili, Alexander Todua, Georgy Džimšeladze. In the second half of the game these following players appeared on the stadium: Zurab Georgy Dzneladze Tedo Zibzibadze and Pruidze, Levan Gogolashvili and Irakli Ghvindzilia.
We started the game well and traditionally with a beautiful combination, in which participated the entire team, Kolelishvili completed attempt and scored. After that our conducted another good attack, but could not end with try. The game ended and the initiative fully Georgians took the Japanese. The match ended in favor of Japan – 26:7.
We hope that Kakha Alania’s players will play more mobilized tomorrow and manage to go through the final stage in London.
