“This year 250 sportsmen from 24 countries participated in the championship. I wrestled in 62 kg from 45 to 49 years old veterans, Omar Metreveli – in heavyweight from 36 to 39 years old and Beso Mikeltadze – in heavyweight from 50 to 55 years old. Besides the wrestlers, referee Otar Kurashvili also was in the Georgian delegation. Organizers of the tournament named him as the best referee. Davit Berdzenishvili was a head of the delegation. I won gold medal for the seventh time and I am not going to stop. I do not know who is a record holder. Zaur Sakhvadze has won 8 gold medals and Otar Kurashvili – 9. 70-year-old sportsmen also competed in the championship” – Temur Giorgadze told “World Sport”.
