After defeat against Georgia 0:0 in the qualifying match of FIFA World Championship 2014 in, Didier Deschamps, head coach of French team, noted that “three-colored” should play more attacking football.
-How do you feel after the match?
Didier Deschamps: “We had a lot of goal moments at the beginning. The Georgians showed good result in this game. I am sorry that we could not win. We should do more”.
- Why have you lost? Did you wait such game from Georgians?
- Because, we have not scored.
- What was the reason of this undesirable result?
- I have a feeling, that somewhere we missed something. We made mistakes in the center line. We could not find a way out of this situation.
- Are you disappointed with the team?
- I could not say so. I can say, that the Georgians were compact and did not allow us to do more. I cannot say, that I am disappointed with all my team.
- Before the match you said that you will gain three points. Was this underestimation of your opponent? Do you have another chance for the first place in the group after this match?
- Of course. Maybe, we cannot take the first place. However, Spain won over Finland. But, we still have another matches and we will fight, due to take the 2nd place suitably.
- What do you think, what is the solution? We hope that this outcome will not compact badly on subsequent matches of the national team?
- We have to be more carefully for the next time. We must show more attacking play. We must better use goal moments. I cannot say, that this is a big disappointment. We still have matches. Although, we have the ambition to take first place in the group, but second place is also good. So, the team should not be on pessimistic attitude. We will talk about this with the players.
- What do you plan to reach together with French team?
- We wait the highest result in World Championship. I will distinguish Okriashvili from Georgian team, whole team showed good result, but he was the best.
- What are you going to change for the next matches?
- We must offer more attacking football to our opponents.
