Georgian weight-lifting team took the second place at European championship, which is underway in Tirana. Davit Gogia gained 401 kg in total (183+218) in 105 weigth category and became prize winner. As you know, on April 12 Raul Tsirekidze took the third place (85 kg).

Gogia used all the three attempts in snatch (177, 181, 183) and as for in clean and jerk he rose 213, 218 kg barbel and almost managed to rise 222 kg one and as a result gained bronze, in case of using attempt he would win silver medal. 

David Bezhaniani a member of Russian national team became champion 411 (181+230), Maxim Sheiko took the second place 404 (184+220).

Albert Kuzilov who was disqualified competed for Georgian national team in 105 kg weight category and took the fourth place. In snatch he used three attemts to rise 216 barbel but in vein. 

Today champions and prize winners were found out in 94 weight category. Vazha Ghonghadze represented Georgia and took the seventh place with 356 (168+188).

A heavy-weighter Irakli Turmanidze will compete today.
