“Getting an acquittal answer, probably, is excluded. Presumably, we should expect strict sanctions against weightlifters, who appealed against the results of the first doping-test and decided to pass additional tests. Unfortunately, the situation is very complicated” – Pavle Kasradze, head of the Georgian anti- doping agency, told this to “World Sport”.
We remind that 4 members of Georgian weightlifting team wrapped in the doping scandal. The names of the two of them became officially known last week. The tests made in the European Championship showed the trail of the doping in the blood of Raul Tsirekidze and Davit Gogia (bronze winners). And after it became clear that the athletes did not require repeated analysis, the official announcement was made. And another two Georgian weightlifters who are suspected in a similar violation, sent samples to Kyoln laboratory for the research.
“World Sport” learned that Lasha Talakhadze and Shota Mishveladze, members of Georgian youth team, are making the additional doping tests. These athletes were on the international scene at the end of September. Talakhadze became the champion in heavyweight category at the European Championship in Tallinn. And Mishveladze won the silver medal in 69 kg weight category.
