Nika Kvekveskiri, football player of the Georgia national team, made a comment after qualifying for the EURO 2024.

“Nothing is easy. It was tough and emotional when you know that you are kicking a decisive penalty. I think it was a logical ending because it was a tough game and such final is sweeter and more interesting for us. Our players, especially young ones, gained a lot of experience.

I knew that I would take the last fifth penalty. I was one of the most experienced players on the pitch and I had to take a responsibility. When I was going to shoot the penalty, I was thinking about everything and nothing at the same time. I personally have never had such situation because it was a huge responsibility in front of the whole Georgia. There was a noisy silence in my brain”, - Kvekveskiri said.

The Georgians will compete in Group F at EURO 2024. They will face Turkey (June 18, Dortmund), Czech Republic (June 22, Hamburg) and Portugal (June 26, Gelsenkirchen).
