Georgian weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze set three records at the current World Championship in Thailand.

Talakhadze became world champion for the fourth time. Lasha lifted 208, 215 and 220 kg in snatch. 220 kg is a world record. His previous record was 218. The Georgian lifted 247, 255 and 264 kg in clean and jerk. 264 kg is also a world record. In total Talakhadze lifted 484 kg which is also a world record.

Talakhadze became world champion for the first time in 2015. He won gold medal at Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. Lasha became world champion three times in a row in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He won European Championship four times in a row in 2016-19.
