Current world champion judoka Guram Tushishvili will miss Tbilisi Grand Prix due to disqualification. The Georgian heavyweight received two-month disqualification due to violation of the regulation of the International Judo Federation.
“The reason was Guram Tushishvili’s participation in World Kurash Championship in Kazakhstan last year. According to the new regulation of International Judo Federation, judokas, who are in international ranking, are prohibited from participating in any other sports. Tushishvili received two-month disqualification, counting begins on March 25” – Facebook page of the Georgian Judo Federation wrote day.
Besides Tbilisi Grand Prix, Tushishvili will miss Antalya and Hohhot Grand Prix and Baku Grand Slam. The Georgian will be back for the second European Games in Minsk in June.
