Canoeist Zaza Nadiradze who made through to final of C-1 200 m was very close to winning an Olympic medal.

The 22-year-old athlete overcame the qualifying round and semifinal and went through to final with the 4^th place.

In the final Zaza covered the distance in 39.817 seconds and took the fifth place. Yuriy Cheban of Ukraine (39.279) won gold medal.

Of course, the fifth place is a great success for Nadiradze.
