The Georgian weightlifting team gained the first success at Forde European Championship. Anastasiia Hotfrid (+75) showed herself, gained silver medal and guaranteed Olympics in Rio.
It is notable, that Anastasiia used all six attempts and became the first European vice-champion in women, in the history of the Georgian weightlifting. Hotfrid lifted 106, 110 and 113 kg in snatch and 128, 132 and 136 kg in clean and jerk. Finally, Hotfrid earned 249 kg.
In men’s 105 kg two Georgians also participated today. Finally, 18-year-old Giorgi Chkheidze showed the 9th result with 381 kg (170+211) and 30-year-old Aluda Managadze was the 11th with 377 kg (175+202).
The prize winners in men’s +105 kg will be found out at 19:00 Tbilisi time and Lasha Talakhadze and Irakli Turmanidze will take part in it.
