The Germans Promise to Fight and "The Lelos" - to Play Well

Head coach of the Georgian national rugby union team and Shalva Sutiashvili, captain of “The Lelos”, promise fans to play well and to win the match.

The Germans stated they have better team this year and will fight till the end.

24 hours before the match, the Georgian team held practice at “Avchala” and then held a press conference.

Milton Haig (head coach of the Georgian team): “We are holding the first match after World Cup and we must play well. Our opponent had good matches against Brazil in November. So, tomorrow we will attend a good match”.

Shalva Sutiashvili (captain of the Georgian team): “I want to thank fans for their support at World Cup. As a result of hard work, we achieved success at the 2015 World Cup. Now we must work harder to achieve more.

There are new players in the team but we know them well because we held preparation period of World Cup together. They got used to our game structure and combinations. They are professionals who are ready to hold a match at high level”.

Kobus Potgieter (head coach of the German national team): “It is a great honor for us to play rugby in Georgia. I think the team prepared better this year. The German club won three matches at Challenge Cup and only lost to “Timisoara” of Romania. We could not make it through to play-off but we gained experience”.

Michael Poppmeier (captain of the German national team): “Like any rugby team, we will fight till the end. Our goal is to keep our place in Nations Cup and we will play only for victory”.
