The Georgian water polo team finished 2016 European Water Polo Championship in the 14th place. Jovan Popovic’s team lost the final match to Slovakia 9:10 (2:2, 2:1, 4:4, 1:3).
In the previous match Beka Kavtaradze and Marko Jelaca led the Georgian team with 2-2 goals. The following players scored 1-1 goal: Marko Elez, Andria Bitadze, Mikheil Baghaturia, Zurab Rurua and Konstantine Gegelashvili.
Malta defeated Turkey and took the 15th place.
