The Georgian delegation ended up the European Boxing Championship in Samokov (Bulgaria) with silver and bronze medals.
Otar Eranosiani (60 kg) won the silver medal. He beat Almog Briga (Israel), German Robert Arutinyan, Russian Adlan Abdurashidov and Bulgarian Elian Dimitrov. Unfortunately, the Georgian could not win the final battle over British Joseph Cprdina and took the second place.
Zaal Kvachatadze outdid Tomas Pivorun (Lithuania), Andrei Bikovic (Slovenia), Armen Hovikyan (Armenia) and made through to semifinal, where lost to Russian Piotr Khamukov and occupied the third place. Heavyweight Mikheil Bakhtidze could not win a medal, however occupied the fifth place and won the right to participate in the World Championship.
In the remained weight categories, Gela Abashidze (69), Nikoloz Sekhniashvili (81) and Levan Guledani (91) won the first meetings, but lost in 1/8 final and stayed beyond the competition. Mikheil Kazanjiani (49) and Irakli Dalakishvili (64) stayed beyond the tournament from the first round.
