Georgian weightlifter Ramin Shamilishvili (56 kg) took the 6th place at European Championship which is under way in Tbilisi. After the tournament Shamilishvili noted he suffered from knee injury. Giorgi Asanidze, head coach of the Georgian team, is not satisfied with the result.
Ramin Shamilishvili (member of the Georgian team): “The sixth place is not a positive result because I could have won medal. I injured knee a week before the tournament. I had very tough opponents. I gained a huge experience”.
Giorgi Asanidze (head coach of the Georgian team): “Of course, I am not pleased with Ramin’s result. We knew it would be tough to fight for medal. It is sport and every sportsman has a failure”.
Kakhi Kakhiashvili (head of the Organizing Committee): “Georgia is hosting such event for the first time. Unfortunately, Ramin Shamilishvili did not compete the way we expected. We had a chance of medal, he lost weight and I think it is the reason of failure. He gained a huge experience and World Championship is ahead”.
