The presidential elections of the Georgian Weightlifting Federation will be held in May. According to the decision of the executive committee members, now the main issue is to prepare for European Championship which will take place in Tbilisi on April 10-18.

There are only two candidates: Mamuka Tuskadze, founder of club “Tskaltubo”, and legendary weightlifter Kakhi Kakhiashvili.

Kakhiashvili is a current vice-president of the federation and he will be acting president until May.

Presidential post is vacant since the end of 2014. Armaz Tavadze resigned after half-year work.
